Strategic Plan Creates New Vision for Library for 2018-2021
The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library is proud to announce the launch of a dynamic new Strategic Plan designed to enhance the library’s connection to the community. Development of the plan began in 2016 and involved over 700 Town residents and library patrons through a survey, focus groups, an Advisory Council, and input from library staff. Due to a flooding incident and changes in administration, the project was put on hold, but all of the feedback has now been compiled and evaluated. The library staff has developed six goals that correspond with the findings of the study. These goals along with their associated objectives are set forth as part of the Strategic Plan that offers guidance for the next three years.
“The library has always had a reputation for exemplary customer service,” says Director, Lorna Rhyins. “We want to take our strong connection with patrons and enhance it by developing new services and partnerships that aspire to include all members of the community. The library will have a welcoming environment that offers a place to gather, connect, and learn by sharing and comparing interests.”
We are grateful to everyone who participated by offering their input. We hope that they will continue to engage and bring their thoughts and ideas to the attention of the library staff.
